Owen R. Taylor (BA, LICDC, SAP) founded Key Decisions/Positive Choices in 1999. It is a community based multi-service chemical dependency assessment, treatment/intervention services organization supporting the needs of individuals, families and industrial concerns. To further respond to the community’s chemical dependency resource needs, he established the Key Decisions, Driver Intervention Program. Key Decisions provides a 72-hour Driver Intervention Program for impaired drivers from across Northeast Ohio, alcohol/drug education classes, and an 8-hour Remedial Driver’s Course, for individuals desiring a 2 pt. credit, court ordered, under 12 pt. suspension, or individuals under age 21 w/a prohibited level of alcohol. At this time, Owen Taylor and his staff at Key Decisions/Positive Choices act as a single agency providing comprehensive Alcohol and Drug Treatment programs and services to various communities throughout Northeast Ohio. Mr. Taylor holds a Bachelors degree in General Studies from Ohio University. He is a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Ohio since 1992. Mr. Taylor’s core area of expertise includes: chemical dependency assessment and treatment, recovery, and relapse prevention supports for individuals and groups; child and adolescent prevention education, occupational health consultation, program design, and administration.
Michael David Stitts, (CDCA) is a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant. He is passionate about guiding addicts through the struggle of recovery. As an Addiction Counselor at Key Decisions Positive Choices, Michael provides support, empathy, trust and credibility to his clients. Clean and sober for over 18 years, Michael brings his own personal experience, strength and hope to his role in order to serve the adult population of Northeast Ohio with their recovery programs. A native of Cleveland, Ohio Michael received his Chemical Dependency Certification from the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board. He also holds a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor's in Engineering from Tennessee State University.
Jim Joyner (LICDCC, ICCS) is a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor Clinical Supervisor and the founder of Joyner and Associates, LLC. He has over 47 years experience in the field of alcohol and other drug treatment, prevention, education and intervention services. Jim facilitates educational seminars during the Key Decisions Driver Intervention Program.
Mary Bazie (MA, LISW, LICDC) received her undergraduate degree from Heidelberg College, and received her Masters Degree from Case Western Reserve University. She is an independent licensed social worker with a primary scope of practice in addiction treatment. Currently she is the Executive Director of Hitchcock Center for Women. She believes that addiction is a treatable disease of the brain and with proper treatment those afflicted with the disease of addiction can live quality lives and become assets to the community.
